What do we do when catastrophic global warming is already a fact? With heatwaves and other disasters rolling across the globe and the threshold of 1.5 degrees Centigrade about to be crossed, the time has come to tackle this question head-on. This talk will offer some preliminary reflections on the future of adaptation, carbon dioxide removal and geoengineering and argue that none can, in the end, substitute for emissions cuts at revolutionary scale and speed.
